The Simbai region in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea is the location of a group of farmers who farm at an elevation of 1600 to 1900 meters. The varietal is Typica and is processed using the washed method. The creamy body of this coffee is complemented by notes of melon, dried fruit, sweet caramel and subtle green tea.
For maximum freshness, all coffee is packaged in resealable foil-lined bags that have a one-way valve, keeping oxygen out while allowing gasses to escape. A portion of all sales from this coffee is donated to benefit the student scholarship fund on the Rio Grande Bible College, an accredited Bible College on the Texas/Mexico border. All classes are in Spanish and about 90% of the student body comes from Latin American countries. www.riogrande.edu
