This microlot coffee is grown in the NE of Nicaragua, in the Jinotega region, famous for producing excellent coffies in its volcanic soil. It is grown at an altitude of 133-1500 masl. The farm is certified by the Rainforest Alliance and provides educational opportunities for its employees and their families. It is processed using the natural method. This coffee features the Caturra, Red and Yellow Catuai, Paranaiema, Java, SL28, and Geisha varietals. and is from the 2021/2022 harvest year .
This rich coffee has a wonderful blueberry fragrance and aroma with a mild acidity. The aftertaste is sweet and medium-bodied with a creamy and balanced mouthfeel. You will experience flavors of blueberry, dark chocolate, and melon. Brewed conventionally or in a pourover, this coffee performs exceptionally well and you will be pleased with the smooth rich taste. Receiving a cupping score of 84.5, it is a highly rated coffee and absolutely worth every penny.
To ensure maximum freshness, our roasted coffee is packaged in resealable foil-lined bags with a one way valve to let gasses escape and keep oxygen from entering.
A portion of all sales from this coffee is donated to benefit the student scholarship fund of the Rio Grande Bible College, an accredited Bible College on the Texas/Mexico border. All classes are in Spanish and about 90% of the student body comes from Latin American countries. www.riogrande.edu
